Monday 23rd February. Bletchingley, England.

Tell me why... I don't like Mondays! A severe case of Mondayitis struck Bletchingley today. The day was cancelled at 2:30 p.m. due to lack of interest. It had been bitterly cold all day, and I'd run out of 'good' jobs to do, all that was left were the sort of jobs that I'd been putting off as long as possible. Also my friend went into hospital today, and it seems that she'll start chemotherapy treatment tomorrow. So all in all, it's one of those days that I won't be sorry to see the end of.

But it's not all doom and gloom. For starters, I'm expecting a visit from my mate Chris from California in a few weeks time. It seems he'll be staying with me for a couple of nights, while he conducts and in depth investigation into the Bletchingley's four pubs. Hopefully Chris will be the first in a string of friends to visit me before I leave Bletchingley. I'm also hoping to catch up with Amy from Pittsburgh, Gail from Vancouver and David and Jeanne from Indianapolis. But the best news of all is that I get to see my SKINNY LITTLE NIECES in July. I had planned to be well on my way to Russia by July- or even perhaps making my way towards China- BUT I've heard a rumour that my brother and his family will be in France in July, and I wouldn't miss the opportunity to tease my pesky nieces and nephews, so it looks like I might end up crossing Russia in winter instead of summer. Brrrrrr.....

And here for your viewing pleasure are a few photos that Becky from Brighton sent me, from her London to Capetown cycling trip. These were taken in Northern Sudan. Looks like an easy ride, eh?

...and ANOTHER new challenge... finding Churchill's grave!
