Friday 17th October. Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

As you can see, I'm still in Toronto. Nicole, who I'm currently staying with here, has assured me that I'll be welcome to stay a few days while I 'regroup' and work out where I go from here. It seems I'll investigate the possibility of re-entering the US sooner rather than later, since I have plenty of work offers there. Also, the weather is starting to get a little less pleasant here, and I bet it's beautiful in Florida this time of year!

Good news also on the subject of webhosting fees. A generous reader in Canada has offered me a huge amount of webspace, more than enough to host my entire site well into the future. To begin with, I'm transferring all my photos across. That will eliminate any excess fees that I've been paying. For the moment, I'll continue to keep the site itself with my existing host, partly because it's through that host that I can send and receive emails, since I don't have an ISP. In the meantime, please let me know if any photos don't display. It's a bit of a challenge for me!

Of course, there are more ways you can help. Check out 101 Ways You Can Help. The most fun way you can help- and at the same time become a real part of the project- is to set me a challenge. You can tell me where you want me to go, and offer me a reward if I complete whatever challenge you set. Also, have a browse through my Favourite Books page. Any purchases you make at Amazon through links on that page, earn me a commission. So far, I've earnt about thirty bucks commission, but I can't receive it till it reaches a hundred. So buy a book...or a saucepan...or some clothes...anything at all! *just be aware that I heven't updated the Lonely Planet guidebooks recently, so the edition that I display may be outdated. If you email me, I can let you know if it's the latest edition*

Also, I'm always keen to get some feedback. I know I'm not the world's best writer or photographer, but I'm working hard to make the website updates as interesting as possible. I deliberately don't get too bogged down in the geography and history of the places I visit, cause I figure if you need to know the population of Toronto and the year it was founded blah blah blah, there are a zillion websites you could check out. But maybe there's some other aspect of my travels you feel I don't devote enough attention to. Let me know and I'll make an effort.

Sorry about the recent lack of photos. All my rechargeable batteries are dead, and my battery charger doesn't work on North American voltage. I'm not about to go spending $6 on batteries, so until I find a battery changer to borrow, there'll be no pic's, not even of my new sexy sweatshirt. At this point, because I don't have anything really riveting to write, I invite you to browse the stories and photos from my past travels- hitchhiking into the Sahara Desert, living and working on a kibbutz in Israel, thumbing around Ireland during a blizzard etc... Just use the links at the top of this page, and also the links at the very bottom of the page. There's some pretty interesting stuff there, even if I do say so myself!
