Tuesday 5th July, Madrid, Spain
I started a new job today! *about bloody time*
On the commute to work, I read in the newspaper that Madrid has three times as many bars per head of population than the average European Union country, with one bar per 134 person. In fact it has been claimed that the city of Madrid has more bars than a number of European countries, particularly Belgium and the Nordic countries. I'd love to hear some statistics if you have any... how many bars per capita in your country???
Madrid may have been in the news in your part of the world lately...for a number of reasons. In a controversial move, the Spanish government has just approved legislation making Spain (apparently) just the third country in the world to allow homosexual marriages, and to give gay couples the right to adopt children. I'll welcome your comments, make your mark on my messageboard.
